My 2nd Blogging Award!

So the same day I received the Versatile Blogger Award I also received the Liebster Blog Award!  My head was spinning!  To receive so much love and validation from my friends in 2 days is overwhelming!!  It definitely helps me feel confident that I'm doing something right!!

This little award came to me from my friend Carrie @ Frugal Foodie Mama & little did she know it at the time but she was one of my recipients for the Versatile Blogger Award!!  She's an amazing woman who I'm so happy I've gotten a chance to get to know better!  Y'all should definitely go check out her site!

So, a little about this award ~ it is given to bloggers from other bloggers. It is an awesome way to recognize smaller blogs that have under 200 followers, to show them some love, and to hopefully send some new followers their way and help them grow even more!

When you are nominated, you are to do each of the following:
  • Tell 11 random facts about yourself
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger who nominated you gave you to answer
  • Choose up to 11 other awesome blogs to nominate for the award
  • Come up with a list of 11 questions for your nominees to answer

Since I just gave you 7 random facts about myself yesterday, I'm going to cheat and only give you an additional 4 more :)
  1. If you've never checked out my 'Meet Mom' page, you're probably not aware of the fact that the Hubs & I have known each other since elementary school.  Our families have been friends for a long time.  My FIL used to joke to my dad that one day the Hubs & I would get married and my dad would always say no way!! My dad wasn't a huge fan of him as a kid, he was quite the trouble maker!!  This has now become a family joke!!
  2. I do not like coffee, can't even really stand the smell of it.  A big glass of sweet tea is my morning cup of coffee
  3. I loathe cleaning.  I would be horribly embarrassed if any of you ever showed up at my door
  4. I had one special stuffed animal when I was a child.  It was a rabbit.  Said rabbit still survives in my daughters room.  All the stuffing has moved to his tooshie.  He's a rather sad looking, 30+ year old stuffed animal.

Now to Carrie's questions:
  1. If you could compete in any cooking/baking competition on TV, which one would it be & why?  It's a toss up between Chopped or Top Chef.  I always try to figure out what dish I would make with the mystery ingredients on Chopped but the Hubs says I would rock at Top Chef if I was allowed to bring my recipes!
  2. Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate: Definitely Tea, Sweet Tea filled to the top with ice, lots & lots of ice
  3. If you could learn any new skill instantly by osmosis, what would it be? Oooohh, there are so many... I'd love to be able to better my skills in photography but I also want to learn more in the kitchen and yet still learn to have a body that looks way better than the one I got ;)
  4. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas
  5. What do you think is the most eco-friendly thing that you do on a daily or weekly basis? We're not the best at being green but we do try.  We try to really pay attentions to the lights in the house, making sure they aren't left on.  We are also a 1 car family so I believe that makes a decent impact
  6. What two things are ALWAYS in your pantry? Bread and Gerber Graduate Meals
  7. If you could have just one super power for 24 hours, what would it be? I think it would be pretty cool to be able to move really fast.  I could get so much done in 24 hours if I could move at lightening speed
  8. Who is your favorite author? Edgar Allen Poe
  9. What is the weirdest thing you have ever ate? I guess it would have to be either alligator or venison.  I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food
  10. What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? A house
  11. Why do you blog?  It started as just an online recipe box for me to keep the recipes that I make so I don't have to keep scraps of paper or torn out magazine pages laying around anymore.  My way of organizing.  :)

My Nominees Are:
(in no particular order)

Mari @ 4WriterMom

And now my questions for you ladies:

  1. What is the strangest food you have ever cooked?
  2. What's your favorite bumper sticker you have ever had and/or seen?
  3. Who was or even still is your favorite cartoon character?
  4. If you had a time machine that could take you back in time ~ what year would you go back to and why?
  5. What was your worst dating experience?
  6. You're about to make your way down 'The Green Mile', what's your last meal?
  7. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
  8. If you could change places with any person, who would it be and why?
  9. What would you consider to be the greatest invention of your lifetime and why?
  10. Best meal you've ever had?
  11. If you could have 1 wish granted, what would it be?

I'm so excited to see your answers!!!

  5. Cooking through the Paula Deen cookbook is going pretty well. I have slowed down a little this summer. It has been so hot that I haven't felt like heavy, rich tasting food. We have been eating a lot of sandwiches and salads. I am looking forward to this fall and winter with the soups, stews, and good "stick to your bones" kind of comfort food! Thank you for asking :)
